When is Day of Arafah 2027?
Saturday 15 May 2027
9 Dhu al-Hijjah 1448 AH· in 213 days
Expected date on the Umm al-Qura calendar. Many communities confirm the month by sighting the new moon, so Day of Arafah can fall a day later where you live; your local mosque or national moon-sighting committee announces it.
The Day of Arafah is 9 Dhu al-Hijjah, the day before Eid al-Adha. Pilgrims on Hajj spend it on the plain of Arafat, east of Makkah, in prayer and supplication. Standing at Arafat is the central rite of the pilgrimage; the Prophet said, "Hajj is Arafah" (Jami at-Tirmidhi 889).
Many Muslims who are not on Hajj keep a voluntary fast on this day. A hadith in Sahih Muslim (1162) describes fasting the Day of Arafah as expiating the sins of the year before and the year after.

Questions about Day of Arafah
Is the Day of Arafah the same date everywhere?
Many communities date it from the Saudi announcement for Dhu al-Hijjah, since the Hajj takes place there; the Fiqh Council of North America, for example, follows the Hajj authorities for Eid al-Adha. Communities that follow their own moon sighting can mark it a day later.
When does the Arafah fast begin and end?
Like any fast, it runs from Fajr to Maghrib at your own location, so the times are those on your city's Salah timetable for 9 Dhu al-Hijjah.
