Ramadan 2027 timetables in South Africa

South Africa relies on seeing the crescent at home. In Cape Town, volunteers from the Crescent Observers Society watch from spots such as Three Anchor Bay and Signal Hill, and the Muslim Judicial Council announces the result on television, online and on local Muslim radio. The United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA) also issues rulings, as it did when no moon was seen on 19 March 2026 and Ramadan ran to 30 days.

South Africa's start can differ from Saudi Arabia's: in 2023 it began Ramadan a day later.
