Praying in Saskatoon
Between 9 June and 4 July, a stretch of 26 days, the sun in Saskatoon does not sink far enough below the horizon for the usual twilight calculation to work. On those days Fajr and Isha come from a twilight-angle fallback rule. On every other day the normal calculation applies. Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, so the table moves only with the sun.
The year's extremes both land inside the fallback window. Fajr is earliest at 2:56 AM on 11 June, Isha is latest at 11:21 PM on 25 June, and the fast is longest on 23 June at 18h 35m. In late December it shrinks to 9h 29m.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Saskatoon switch to a fallback rule in June?
At this latitude the sun does not sink far enough below the horizon around the solstice for the usual Fajr and Isha twilight to begin or end. From 9 June to 4 July a fallback rule fills the gap. Other methods handle this differently, so ask your mosque which one it follows.
Is there a daylight saving jump in the Saskatoon timetable?
No. Saskatchewan stays on one clock time all year, so no day in the table jumps by an hour. The latest Fajr, 7:30 AM on 1 January, and the earliest Isha, 6:40 PM on 4 December, are shaped only by the sun.
How long can a fast be in Saskatoon?
From 9h 29m on 20 December to 18h 35m on 23 June, which is almost twice as long. The summer peak lands in the middle of the fallback window, when Fajr is no longer measured by the usual sun angle.
When is Isha earliest in Saskatoon?
Isha begins at 6:40 PM on 4 December, more than two weeks before the winter solstice. From then on it moves later each evening, while Fajr keeps getting later until 1 January.
